Doğanın Kalbinde Bir Yerleşke: Yeşilburç’un Coğrafi Yapısı
Yeşilburç Village is a unique settlement located northwest of Niğde city center, nestled on the steep and green slopes of the Karasu Valley. In contrast to the prevailing steppe climate and terrain of the region, it boasts a rich vegetation and abundant water resources thanks to the microclimate of the valley floor.
Geographical and Natural Features
Location and Elevation
Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,350 - 1,400 meters above sea level, the village is located in the southern part of the Central Anatolia region, right at the entrance of the Cappadocia geographical basin.
Valleys and Water Resources
The Karasu Stream, flowing through the village, nourishes the apple and walnut orchards as well as historic fruit groves along the valley. The contrast between steep rock formations and the lush green valley floor offers the village both natural shelter and breathtaking views.
Climate Character
The village experiences cool and refreshing summers, alongside snowy continental winters typical of Central Anatolia. However, the sheltered structure of the valley breaks harsh winds, creating a distinct microclimate effect.

By Private Vehicle
From Niğde Center:
Following the direction signs to Yeşilburç from Niğde city center (towards Eski Sanayi / Bor Road), you can reach the village in just 8-10 minutes.
From Neighboring Cities:
- From Nevşehir / Cappadocia: Easily accessible via the Niğde-Nevşehir (D765) highway by turning off at the Yeşilburç junction as you approach Niğde (~80 km).
- From Kayseri: Reached via a drive of approximately 130 km on the Kayseri-Niğde highway (D300/D765).
- From Adana / Mersin: Take the O-21 motorway, enter via the Niğde south exit, and reach the village through the city center.
By Public Transport
Local Minibuses / Public Buses:
You can reach the village in about 15 minutes using the local Yeşilburç minibuses that depart at regular intervals throughout the day from the minibus stops or district terminal in Niğde city center.
Taxi:
Due to the short distance from the city center, taking a taxi is also a highly affordable and practical option.
By Air and Rail
Air Travel:
The nearest airports are Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) (~100 km) and Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR) (~135 km). You can transfer to Niğde from these airports by car rental, shuttle services, or private transfers.
Rail Travel:
Niğde Railway Station is located right in the city center. Passengers arriving by train can easily catch a minibus or taxi right outside the station to arrive at the village within minutes.
